DOS Design Group recently finished this home renovation project with Fifth Element Construction for a client in East Vancouver.
The end result is so open, light, and airy.
Before we describe the project we will let Brooks and Paula comment on their experience:
DOS Design Group did an amazing job. We especially appreciate how they stuck with the project and came up with an excellent solution when our building permit got rejected by COV. We love our new space!
Cheers! Brooks & Paula
. . . . . . . .
There were a number of interesting challenges when we began work on this project due to it being an Attic with limited Ceiling Height and that they had previously been rejected for a Building Permit as their original concept didn’t meet Vancouver Building By-Law.
We worked with Brooks and Paula to retain the style of what they wanted while reallocating the space to find a way to make everything work and open up the Attic. This included removing the Walls and the Chimney that made the Attic feel cramped and restricted the entry access to the Bedroom Area. Then we relocated the Washroom to the other side of the Attic to create a Yoga and Reflection space along with custom millwork that took advantage of the slope of the ceiling to create a large built-in wardrobe and a reading nook!
